The Launceston Golf Club Easter Tournament is back.

After being put to the side for some time, this iconic event returns in 2026 with bigger prizes, more happening, and more chances to win, while paying respect to the tournament’s important place in Tasmanian elite golf history.

This time around, the focus is on inclusion, fun, and great competition, welcoming golfers of all abilities from Tasmania, interstate, and beyond.

WIN AFL TICKETS TO HAWTHORNS ANZAC DAY MATCH

Players can look forward to an exciting prize lineup, signed Hawthorn guernseys, a 127 Ponting Magnum signed by Ricky Ponting, AFL tickets, golf and retail vouchers, and plenty more surprises still to be announced. With additional prizes being added in the lead-up to the event, the total prize pool is expected to be around $10,000.

Dates: Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 March 2026

Format: 36 holes Stroke (18 holes each day)

Eligibility: GA handicap required

Event Type: TooGood Trophy eligible event

Open To: Men, Women and Juniors

Friday Night Calcutta

A Calcutta will be held on Friday night at the Launceston Golf Club prior to the tournament. Bid on the individual you think has this tournament in the bag.

This is a great opportunity to kick off the weekend, enjoy some food and drinks, and be part of one of the most entertaining traditions in tournament golf. Further details, including start time and format, will be released closer to the event so keep an eye out for your inbox.

About the TooGood & Goggin Trophies

This event is a TooGood and Goggin Trophy tournament.

The TooGood Trophy is awarded annually to Tasmania’s top male amateur golfer, recognising the best adjusted scoring average over a calendar year. Named after legendary Tasmanian golfer Peter Toogood, it remains one of the most respected honours in Tasmanian amateur golf.

The Goggin Trophy is awarded to Tasmania’s top female amateur golfer named after celebrated Tasmanian golfer, Lindy Goggin.

Grades & Divisions

Prizes will be awarded across a wide range of divisions to ensure everyone has a genuine chance to compete. You have every chance of winning a nearest to the pin, straightest drive and longest drive.

Individual Grades

  • A Grade – Men

  • A Grade – Women

  • B Grade – Men

  • B Grade – Women

  • C Grade – Men

  • C Grade – Women

  • Colts (18–23) – Men

  • Colts (18–23) – Women

  • Juniors – Boys

  • Juniors – Girls

The Club Shield

A Club Shield will be contested across the tournament weekend.

  • The three lowest gross scores from each club (across the 36 holes) will count toward the Club Shield

  • Scores may come from any grade or gender

  • The club with the lowest combined total of the three scores will be crowned the Club Shield winner

The Club Shield will be arranged on your behalf. Simply rally as many members from your club as possible to enter the event.

Entry to this event is $75. This includes competition fees, a goodie-bag upon arrival, eligibility for all prizes and entry into the TooGood or Goggin Trophy.

Schedule & Tournament Information

Tee times and daily schedules will be released closer to the event, so keep an eye out. Practice rounds are available and can be booked directly through the Golf Club.

This is a full social weekend of golf. With a Calcutta event, BBQ at the club and behind the 15th green, a lively bar, and food available on course, there’ll be plenty happening wherever you turn.

About Launceston Golf Club

Founded in 1899, Launceston Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in Australia and Tasmania’s oldest 18-hole golf course.

Originally established at the Mowbray Race Course, the club moved to its current site in 1901 and adopted its present name in 1908. For many years, it was the only 18-hole course in the state.

The club has produced numerous outstanding golfers and has hosted major events including the Tasmanian Open Championship and the Australian Junior Championships.

With a rich history and a welcoming culture, Launceston Golf Club is proud to host the return of this much-loved Easter Tournament.
