On behalf of the Board of the Launceston Golf Club I wish to announce the appointment of Tony Powell to the position of General Manager of the Launceston Golf Club effective Tuesday, 13th December 2016. Tony is well known to many members of the Golf Club and having served the last twelve months as Club Captain and with some 10 years’ service on the Board of the Club he comes with considerable knowledge and awareness of the needs and challenges of our Club. Please join me in welcoming Tony to his position of General Manager and in wishing him every success in the role as he embarks on a new and exciting journey with the Launceston Golf Club. CLUB CAPTAIN APPOINTMENT Due to the appointment of Tony Powell as General Manager, Tony is required to step down as Club Captain (as the General Manager reports to the Club Captain). As a result of this vacancy the Board has appointed Nathan Lawson as Club Captain effective immediately, who will serve in this role until the next Annual General Meeting. The casual vacancy will be filled at the next meeting of the Board on the 24th January 2017. We wish Nathan every success in the position as Club Captain.
